Cartilage tissue engineering using endometrial mesenchymal stem cells along with chondrocyte-derived exosomes on polycaprolactone scaffold coated with gelatin by 3D printing method
Summary of the necessity of project implementation
Cartilage is a non-vascular connective tissue that is used to lubricate the friction between joints (1). The only cells that make up this hyaline tissue are chondrocytes, which are embedded in an extracellular matrix (ECM) mainly of type II collagen network (COL II) proteoglycan aggrecan. Cartilage damage may lead to OA osteoarthritis, which is the most common disease. Degenerative joint. which affects more than 303 million people worldwide every year. OA is characterized by joint pain, swelling, and the sound or feeling of severe swelling. is Depletion of meniscal cartilage due to abnormal mechanical forces leads to advanced OA osteoarthritis, and replacement strategies for this structure are behind tissue engineering efforts, which are challenged by complex 3D structures with individual size parameters, compressive, tensile, and shear loads. significant and poor blood supply is faced.
