Comparison of the expression of cytokeratin 6 and 16 in oral lichen planus, oral lichenoid lesions with dysplasia and oral squamous cell carcinoma
Summary of the necessity of project implementation
Oral thrush is a skin-mucosal lesion that affects up to 2% of the total population and is usually associated with lesions that last for a long time and have periods of exacerbation and reduction of clinical symptoms. The etiopathogenesis of oral lichen planus is still unclear, although it is believed that the immune response of T cells to an unknown antigen is most likely responsible for causing this lesion. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to dysplasia changes in oral lichen planus lesions and their higher risk of malignancy from the beginning. In this case, a suitable treatment plan can be provided to prevent cancer. One of the differences that may exist between lesions with dysplasia and without dysplasia is the level of expression of cytokeratins 6 and 16. Knowing more about this difference will help to provide more efficient diagnostic methods and treatment plans in the future.
