Evaluation of hard and soft tissue changes after distraction osteogenesis of maxilla in patients with complete unilateral cleft lip and palate deformity
Summary of the need to implement the plan
Implementation Cleft lip and palate is one of the most common congenital maxillofacial abnormalities that can cause many problems such as nutrition, speech, hearing and mental problems for the patient. The treatment of these abnormalities is long and usually starts from infancy until the patient reaches maturity. It continues into adolescence and youth. Appearance deformity and residual functional problems are commonly seen in treated patients. Orthognathic treatments such as Lefort 1 osteotomy can be performed to correct the deformities of the midface in these patients. Another treatment for these abnormalities is distraction osteogenesis. (DO) that allows increasing the length and size of the maxilla with the help of a mechanical distractor device, due to the existence of different treatments, it is very important and vital to check the results and durability of different treatments in choosing the appropriate treatment and predicting the treatment result, in this study We examine the short and long-term results of distraction osteogenesis treatment for the correction of midface defects.
