Strategies for Enhancing Quality and Improving the Scientific Ranking of the Journal of Craniomaxillofacial Research to Achieve International Recognition
Summary of the Need for Project Implementation
Given the rapid growth of scientific production and the increasing competition among academic journals at the international level, enhancing the quality of specialized journals has become a fundamental requirement of the research system. The Journal of Craniomaxillofacial Research, as a specialized publication in the field of maxillofacial and craniofacial surgery, requires a targeted and systematic revision of its structural framework, editorial policies, and peer-review and publication processes. Such improvements are essential for strengthening the journal’s scientific credibility, attracting distinguished researchers, and achieving effective representation in reputable citation databases. Conducting this study within a health systems research framework enables the identification of the journal’s strengths and existing challenges, while facilitating the development of strategies aligned with international standards of scholarly publishing. The outcomes of this research may lead to improvements in article quality, increased citation rates, enhanced academic ranking, and a stronger international standing for the journal. Furthermore, the findings may serve as a practical model for other specialized medical journals within the country.
