They are neurons, glial cells and immune cells. The neuron consists of three parts: cell body, dendrite and axon. Neurons are divided into three main categories: sensory, motor and intermediate neurons. Glia cells have an important functional role in the nervous system, as neuron support cells. Glia cells include oligodendrocytes, astrocytes, satellites and Schwann cells. Schwann cells include the most cells in peripheral nerves, which play a role in the formation of the myelin sheath in the axon and regeneration in neuronal damage.
