Staged approach guided bone regeneration using customized CAD-CAM titanium mesh in partially edentulous ridges - A feasibility study
Summary of the necessity of the plan
Tooth loss may cause atrophy of the bone ridge, and the defect and insufficient amount of bone created is mandatory to restore aesthetics and restore function. Ideally, classification of ridge defects should guide clinicians in predicting reconstruction success and level of technical difficulty. Seibert's classification is widely used by clinicians to classify ridge defects, but it is not able to describe the details and severity of the defect. In this regard, if the defect is not properly classified and not treated as intended, the anticipated amount of hard tissue regeneration may not be achieved. Therefore, the biological and prosthetic approach should be applied in reconstruction and achieving ideal beauty and function not only in hard tissue but also in soft tissue reconstruction.
